Ooo Colourpop have reigned me in again and I aint mad about it AT ALL!

Once my flatmate told me she managed to order and recieve her package with NO custom charges, I had to visit the site and see for myself and it’s FINALLY happened!

YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO PAY CUSTOM CHARGES IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK!

Now, this doesn’t mean you’re going to save a whole load of money, let’s just get that out they way. It just means that Colourpop will now charge taxes on top of your total when you make your order. There are, however, a few discount codes that will cover a majority of these taxes so have a look around!

I picked up a few new items (check out the video to see) but this post will be about the new So Juicy Plumping Glosses – $7.00 (each)

If you didn’t know, I’ve now been converted back to glosses ever since Fenty Beauty released Gloss Bomb, so when I saw the new So Juicy Glosses this was a no brainer for me.

I picked up 6 of the glosses:

Out of the 6 glosses, 4 of them contain shimmer, 2 of the 4 (Intersection and Partly Rowdy) are mostly shimmer based with a sheen coloured gloss. In terms of colours and first impressions, these glosses are PRETTTTTY. I mean SUPER pretty! I could barely take my eyes off Intersection and Partly Rowdy.

If you’re into retro looking makeup you’ll also love the tube of these glosses, your standard good old thick plastic gloss tube that requires squeezing to get the product out of the slanted applicator.

The gloss itself is thick, so you really do need to work a little bit to move it around evenly on the lips when applying.

If you love glosses like Gloss Bomb or the ABH lip glosses, So Juicy Glosses may need to be a hard pass for you because of its thick consistency – it is definitely stickier than your faves. This does not make it uncomfortable or unbearable though, I should point that out. The So Juicy Glosses seem to “rest” (for want of a better word) and just stay put after application. I did not experience any tackiness once applied.

Let’s talk about this plumping claim!

As with all glosses labelled as “plumping” the So Juicy glosses have the trademark menthol tingle and I have to admit, it’s not for the faint-hearted. It doesn’t hurt in any way, shape or form but it is pretty strong. The tingle for me lasted around 3-4 minutes and felt very cooling/icy. I felt my lips did look bigger but unfortunately, this wasn’t because of the menthol tingle – my lips always look a little bigger when I apply gloss. This may differ for others but I seem to reach my lip plumping limit once I apply gloss.

In terms of longevity, I honestly can’t say much about it (unhelpful, I know!) Glosses have never lasted long for me, I always find myself drinking or eating something within an hour of applying (yes I eat a lot) and this tends to compromise any longevity tests.

In short, these glosses are fun, affordable and SUPER pretty. They make my lips look luscious but I don’t think this is down to the strong icy feeling. The glosses are thick enough to really make your lips look juicy without the menthol effect, in my opinion.

All of the glosses work well applied on their own or over bases however shades like Chinchilla would work better with a brown lip liner to make it look less ashy on black skin.

Whilst not a MUST have, if you love the look of juicy lips – these were designed for you!
